Busy Couple of Days

Last night was Wednesday Night Live in Jamestown. Thanks Pam S, Judie U and Sue Y for your attendance and for bringing Metoo, Dee Dee & Dexter! Tonite was the Harrison's Deli fundraiser! Thank you everyone for your support! Our very youngest supporter was 6 month old Grady! It was slow but a good night for chatting - not sure if it was the weather, price of gas, or the economy in general that kept many people from coming out.

Meet Tucker!

Tucker is a 20# Schnauzer/Poodle mix—age unknown, perhaps 5 years of age. He was living in a local shelter waiting to be adopted or euthanized, whichever came first. Now he is in ARFP. Little does he know he has hit the jackpot! He is a strong heartworm positive, has a grade 3-4 heart murmur , is slightly anemic (not enough to create the grade heart murmur he has), and has one elevated liver value. Additionally he has skin and allergy issues and is not neutered. Before we can start the heartworm treatment, he will have to have a couple of weeks of antibiotics, prednisone, and Lipovet (supports the liver). Tucker is a wonderful and happy little dog. Dr. Sue Thomas of Summerfield Veterinary Hospital said he was a wonderful patient and allowed them do anything to him—he had blood-work and x-rays in addition to the physical exam.

Please keep Tucker in your thoughts over the next several months. He has a long way to go before we can look for his forever home.
